Curriculum

Program provision for students

Our Curriculum is based on the National Guidelines.  It has been developed locally and it is reviewed regularly to ensure it remains effective and is based on best practice.

We have a Curriculum Officer who leads the ongoing review and development of the Curriculum.

We have a comprehensive Assessment and Reporting regime.  Reports are issued twice a year and formal parent/teacher interviews are scheduled during the year.

A Portfolio of each child's work is presented at the end of the year.  This contains a variety of work samples and assessment tasks.  It is formally presented at the end of each year.

We run specialist support programmes for children who are identified to be in need of such assistance.

We employ specialist teachers in the area Music.

Activities

Our students are actively involved in the community.

A large squad participates in the annual Anzac Day Parade and Ceremony and a smaller representation is involved in the Remembrance Day Celebrations.

We participate in the Deloraine Youth Drama Festival, Deloraine Craft Fair, as well as local Eisteddfods.

We prepare groups for scheduled visits to Kanangra, our neighbouring Nursing Home.

We participate in inter-school sports as part of the Northern Midlands Sporting Association.

Mindful of our relative isolation, we have an exciting leadership and camping programme that has a focus on values and takes place in an environmental setting.

Through a Catholic Education Office Support Service, the school has access to speech and language pathologists, guidance officers, occupational therapists and special education consultants.
